I'm all for bargain hunting! My love for everything retro means I comb out the rails in second hand stores as much as I do boutiques and department stores and ofcourse my 'corner secret' joints. But nothing beats a great quality buy on a trusted brand, when it comes to shoes! I've had thse shoes for 5 years now! My  strappy Mary Jane clogs by Carvela...and they still rock!!

Spotted this cutey on the streets of  Kwa - Dwesi, Pe , SA. She was sweet enough to pose for me, by a shanty stall mind you!lol.  Her indie retro vibe and burst of colour stand their ground against the rough rustic back ground.

Its 8:16am,  winter Saturday morning,chilly,I'm tired, bit cranky was awake at 4am at work by 5am...producing radio requires such odd hours. In my cranky state,plotting spending the day in bed I open the gate to my home and nature says hello! life is full of colour and beauty! I smile,took a snap and sent it to a friend. Those moments seeing  beauty that is all around you all the time...but we often walking around blinded by stuff blocking our vision. Have a moment of beauty! Even against a brick wall,beauty will always find you.

I dont want to wrap her in my arms and kiss her (ok maybe give her a huge hug) I want to raid her wardrobe, chill with her over ice tea or cocktails and just chat! I imagine she is the type of girl  I would be besties with! LOL! I mean a girl who dresses like Solange is all right by me, I feel her style. She is vintage glam meets Indie boho chic...she just rocks her threads so effortlessly.

Date night! loving love!

It's Friday night and I'm dreaming about love! I got my red lipstick on and  my red shoes!  My date swag to go with my lil black date dress! Yes!

I'm dreaming about candy kisses, long conversation under moonlight so bright the dinner won't need the candle light. This is love! I know its love see because  the butterflies, they flutter to his heart beat. The rose cheeks are not courtesy of Mac but creations of  his ' hello' I giggle when he blinks! its silly! its lovely!

I know it's love because it does not hurt. It speaks kind words. It makes me smile, hugs when that smile is upside down, it is not jealous,vain,arrogant or selfish. It is giving. It is pure.

I got my date swag on. LBD replaced by my teddybear printed pj's . Its all a dream, but I keep dreaming on.  In love with love! ;)

Sunshine day! Lesson's learned.

Today has been a good day! I recently got a tv gig as a presenter and it was day two of shooting, super awesome. I just love the camera.

Now with tv programmes there is wardrobe, make up, etc, this is a part I struggled with because I love doing my own make up & I'm my own stylist. I'm also blessed with a small upper body & curvy lower body, which makes dressing me a tad tricky! I'm those types that need tailored clothes I guess, the joys of being 'bootylicious.

So anyway, as I put on my dress for today's shoot - which did not fit the way I would have liked, it got me thinking how important it is to dress for your body shape. Wearing something inappropriate for you body shape could ruin your swag.  You could end up looking frumpy instead of sexy and curvy, uncomfortable instead of  confident.

Secondly - Make up! Owee!!  tv make up is heavy, together with the lights it translates beautifully on screen, but no amount of make up will make you look flawless if you don't take care of your skin. I confess I'm bad with drinking water, bad! That's lesson number two for me..water, water, water,water!!!!

Lesson three- nothing beats your own personal style! As soon as I got out of the designer's dress I jumped into my floral skirt, chunky T Bar Heels and statement gold necklace & I was right back on Bee's beat! My presenter persona is just as much Bee but putting on clothes chosen by myself was like putting back on my original skin! The crew commented on the two "Bees" the transformation. LOL. I owe both persona's but nothing beats being YOURSELF! The clothes we wear are an extension of our personalities! Let your personality shine through,YOU is the best you can be ..right!? RIGHT!

In other news, the Executive Producer asked me to bring some stuff from my own wardrobe for the next shoot! Happiness!!

LESSONS LEARNED!



 

I love shoes. I get shoegasm whenever I spot a gorgeous pair of beautifully made shoes, especially if they are heels & look impossibly high! You never know when a shoe is going to jump out at you and claim you, because its the shoe that chooses, not you, you know that right?  I was claimed recently..by candy coloured well tailored pair of high heel pumps and baby I said yes!!!  shoegasm

INTRO/HELLO/SUP

I don't know how you ended up on this blog, maybe you tripped on the word 'bee' or 'beat' on google & voila! ended up on BeesBeat. Or maybe you're one of my pals who has been nagging me to start a blog because I'm always tweeting past 140 characters or harassing them on bbm or posting numerous photos on instagram,either way, HELLO, I'm happy you are here.

This blog is not about anything in particular, its about 'stuff' really.  My stuff. Stuff inside my head, stuff outside the box, inside the box, trailing behind me stuff inside my head cluttering about. Its about stuff and how that stuff translates into my life, my beat, my rhythm,my boom boom.  Its beautifully staccato, a frenzied clean mess. I think of this blog as a big box where I chuck that stuff into, wrap it up in a bow of pretty words and photographs. If you love fashion, style, music, poetry,and random ramblings and love...you will love it here.
